The Etna is a Strong Motion Accelerograph designed to meet a wide range of earthquake monitoring applications. Etna provides superior resolution in high dynamic range applications, where signal fidelity and data integrity are vital. The Etna acquires and records acceleration data with 18 bits of resolution with 108dB dynamic range at 200sps.
The instrument is equipped with 3 channels, an internal triaxial EpiSensor Force Balance Accelerometer and one 5 Mbyte PCMCIA memory card that provides 40 minutes of uncompressed recording capacity.
Recorded events can be off-loaded automatically via modem, manually retrieved by PC, or by collecting the PCMCIA memory card. Time history data can then be evaluated for key parameters using the SMA software for Windows or converted to SUDS or ASCII file formats for further data analysis.
In addition, Etna allows several optional features including PCMCIA communications, networking and GPS timing. It's multitasking operating system allows simultaneous data acquisition and interrogation, remote alerting capability for system event or auto-diagnostic failure.
