In 1982 I obtained my B.Sc. in Physics (University Paris VII, Maitrise de Physique).

In 1983 I obtained my M.Sc. in Geophysics-Geochemistry (University Paris VII, DEA).

In 1988 I completed my PhD Thesis, becoming Dr. of Seismology (University Paris VII).

During the period 1989 - 1996 I was working as a Research Associate in the Department of Geophysics - Geothermics of the Faculty of Geology (University of Athens).

During the period 1996 - 2001 I was appointed Lecturer of Seismology in the Faculty of Geology (University of Athens).

During the period 2001 - 2009 I was appointed Assistant Professor of Seismology - Seismotectonics in the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment (University of Athens).

During the period 2009 - 2014 I was appointed Associate Professor of Seismology - Seismotectonics in the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment (University of Athens).

Since 2015 I am Professor of Seismology - Seismotectonics in the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment (University of Athens).

TEACHING ACTIVITIES
Since 1996, when I was elected Lecturer, I teach the following seismological courses in undergraduate level:
- Seismology
- Applied and Engineering Seismology
- Special Courses of Seismology
- Earthquake Prediction
- Exploration of the Earth’s Interior
I also teach the following courses in and postgraduate level:
- Advanced Seismology
- Processing – Analysis of Digital Signals
- Seismotectonics
- Earth Structure
- Seismic Parameters – Source Properties
I am also a member of the scientific committee of the MSc Programme “Prevention and Management of Natural Risks”. In the framework of this programme I am responsible for the course “Seismic and Volcanic Risk”
I have supervised more than 20 undergraduate diploma theses.
I have supervised 5 and acted as a member of the examining committee of 14 MSc Diploma Theses.
I have supervised 2 and acted as a member of the examining committee of 11 PhD Theses.
CURRENT PERIOD (2014)
Undergraduate Program: I am supervising 2 undergraduate Diploma Theses.
Postgraduate Program: I am supervising 2 MSc Diploma Theses.
Postgraduate Program: I am supervising 3 PhD Theses.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
I am responsible for the financial management of the Geophysics - Geothermics Department for the period 1996-2006.
Since 2006 I am responsible for the MSc programme of the Department “Seismology – Geophysics”.
I am currently member of the Faculty’s Committee for both the undergraduate and MSc Academic programmes.
Since 2010 I am Responsible of the Committee for the Students Handbook of the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment.
I participate in the annual field trips in the framework of both the undergraduate and MSc programmes.
I have designed and accomplished the webpage of the Department of Geophysics and Geothermics of the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment of the University of Athens and I am responsible for its operation.
Since 2013 I am Director of the Seismological Laboratory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
